We recommend phonics when the visual & auditory processing ability has developed and is commensurate with their age. For instance, a 3 year old should be able to process 3 pieces of information (digits, words or objects), a 4 year old - 4, a 5 year old - 5.... and so on. Whether 7 or an adult, the base line would be 7 digits or pieces of information. If your child cannot hold 5 pieces of information together, then these books would not be as effective. However, if they're up to a 5 digit span; these books will be of great value in moving them into more effective reading, speaking and communicating.
