Sargent, John Singer - A. Capriote Art Print

Art Print of A Capriote painted by American Artist John Singer Sargent in 1878 for sale by Brandywine General Store. During this year Sargent traveled to the Italian island of Capri in search of exotic scenery to use in his subject pictures. Many of the works he produced there feature the popular local model Rosina Ferrara, who was admired for her blue-black hair and olive skin. In this artwork Sargent paints Ferrara in the middle of an olive grove with her arms entwined around a tree making her seem a part of the wild Capri landscape.
