This toy soldier, numbered 31237, depicts the Confederate Texas Brigade Standing Firing No.2. This brigade was organized in October 1861 and left Texas with a variety of weapons, including shotguns, hunting rifles, and even old flintlock muskets from the Texas Revolution. Despite their initial lack of proper equipment, the Texans were highly respected due to the legend of the Alamo. The Confederate government made efforts to provide them with the best equipment available, with most of the brigade eventually being issued Enfield rifles. However, the 1st Texas Infantry continued to use their smoothbore muskets, known for their ability to discharge a 'buck and ball' load, until 1864. This toy soldier is 1/30 scale and has a matte finish, making it a unique addition to any collection. 1/30 scaleMatte Finish
