Ohio State Marching Band
Started as a 12 piece band, all male ROTC band during its humble beginnings, today The Ohio State University Marching Band is much more diverse. Since 1976 the band's membership has held steady at 225 marching members. The band's instrumentation is all brass and percussion making it unique among college bands, pattered after traditional British military brass bands. One of college footballs' best know tradition is performed by The Ohio State University Band when the band takes the field in the Horseshoe to "dot the i". For many of the Buckeye's most loyal fans and alumni, the band is simply referred to as "The Best Damn Band in the Land!"
