Hans Sebald Beham (1500-1550) Cleopatra Seated Old master engraving circa 1530 Bartsch 077; Pauli 81 Sheet: 10.9 x 7 cm (4 5/16 x 2 3/4 in.) Trimmed within the plate mark at top and bottom. A good, evenly printed impression with inky plate edges and the fine lines printing strongly. Cleopatra committing suicide; whole-length female figure seated in three-quarter profile to left on a stone-bench in a prison cell, holding the serpent which is biting her chest in her left hand.
