Text in English. Attractive antiquarian 1/2 leather bindings, raised bands, gilt title lettering, gilt compartment decorations, marbled covers.Rear joint of volume two rebacked long ago to re-attached/ strengthen the board to the binding (shown in close-up pic).Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Bindings gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints rubbed and scuffed in spots but still supple, small chipping at spine heads, set remains overall very attractive as an object.Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally books remain mostly clean, tight and sound.
