A New Map of North America Shewing all the New Discoveries 1798. Issued 1798, London by Dilly. Engraved by J. Russell. The west is almost entirely empty/ blank aside from a huge lake above Teguayo. Stony Mountains named within Canada but unknown stretching down as the Rockies. No states west of the Mississippi aside from the vast territory so-named. Georgia still stretches across to the MIssissippi river. Overall, remains a nice looking example with very pleasant age patina. Short closed splits at ends of fold-lines, some offsetting and age toning. Sheet size c. 8 x 10. Engraved area c. 7 3/8" x 8.75". Pictures show this nice 18th century map well.
