This Spanish soldier is equipped with the 1886 model equipment. Pouches are for the m1871 Remington Rolling Block Rifle. On his harness, he carries a reserve pouch for ammo, a flask for water, and a plug bayonet for his rifle. He wears the Infantryman or Cazador coat, which saw use from the Caribbean, to the Philippines. He has no rank marks on his arms, indicating private.
