Ursula Mamlok, Volume 4 <BR> BRIDGE 9361A/B
In celebration of Ursula Mamlok's 90th Birthday (February 1, 2013) Bridge Records, in cooperation with Deutschlandrundfunk, is proud to release a two-disc retrospective recording of the German/American composer's music. The music included spans 67 years of Ms. Mamlok's compositional career, and incorporates performances by both American and German soloists and ensembles. Many of the works heard on these discs (more than two hours of music) are being recorded for the first time. The release of this recording coincides with celebrations in Germany and the premiere of a new documentary film about the composer's life. Also available: Ursula Mamlok: Vol 1 (BRIDGE 9291), Vol. 2 (BRIDGE 9293) & Vol. 3 (BRIDGE 9360). Reviews: “Mamlok is a sensitive composer who does not tire the ears or the emotions by overdoing things. She has a sense of timing and a variety of intentions that expresses humanity in an unusual way. The recordings and performances are well done.” - American Record Guide
