Generations

When I rode up to Helen's hogan I had no idea what was in store for us. The most beautiful elder woman in Sleeping beauty turquoise, white hair contrasted by sun weathered skin and draped in traditional red velvet, greeted us. Her brown leathered hands of time, and eyes glazed with light blue halos, seemed almost angelic. The ravages of time and sun left her perfect, a reminder or a hard but beautiful life. She told us about the monuments and the sun. She has many stories to tell, and I can't wait to get back to her and bring her supplies. Photography with a Purpose started as a story and fund raiser project. Our mission is to donate the profits to the Navajo models and nation, while providing our clients a beautiful piece of Brit West photography. Helen needs an outhouse, and I intend to build her one. She also sent me a list of staples, which I will be delivering to her as an ongoing fundraising project. We will video this meeting, and have an interpreter to hear her stories.
