Limerick Lane 2020 "1910" Block Zinfandel, Russian River Valley
96 points A fantastic new release from Limerick Lane, one of our favorite California wineries. Limited. 94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The Limerick Lane 2020 Zinfandel 1910 Block is sourced from some of the oldest vines of the estate, dating back to 1910, and also includes a splash of 2% Petit Syrah and 8% new French oak. The wine offers concentrated aromas of blackberry liqueur, dried apricot, and lavender, while the palate is more richly textured with warming mocha, black cherry, and stony minerality that leave a weightless feel. Hold this 2-3 years and drink 2024-2032." Winery Notes: The historic Limerick Lane Estate was first planted to grapes in 1910 by the Del Fava family. Interplanted with historic mixed black varieties the likes of Peloursin, Negrette, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah, and Petite Sirah, the 1910 Block is not only historic, it is completely unique in its percentage of varieties planted.
