Winter Nelis Pear Preserve  June Taylor x Fox Hill Vineyard Winter Nelis pears are a rare heritage variety, and we’re fortunate to have an 80+ year-old tree thriving at Fox Hill. The fruit was hand-picked in late September and brought to June in the Bay Area to be transformed into this special preserve. Known for their thick skin and delicate flesh, these pears ripened slowly over several weeks before being prepared. Each pear was peeled and gently cooked with just a touch of sugar, along with oranges, lemons, Mediterranean bay leaves, and cassis syrup. With no added pectin and very little sugar, the result is a preserve that captures the pear’s pure, natural character. Refrigerate after opening and enjoy within two weeks. Serving Suggestions:Pair beautifully with cheeses, spread on toast, swirl into yogurt, use in baking, or simply enjoy a spoonful on its own. We hope you love it as much as we do.
