Beginning Sewing Boot Camp with Melissa Fitzpatrick
We offer one sewing boot camp class every month, always the second Sunday of the month from 10am to 1pm! This is one 3-hour class, not a series of classes--pick one session that works with your schedule.Class open to students 18 and older.Have you always wanted to learn how to sew? Join us for this 3-hour class where you will learn how to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, set stitch length and width, and sew straight and zigzag seams. Students will learn some essential sewing vocabulary, get an overview of how the machine works, basic care, and tips for fabric, thread, and needle choice. At the end of class students will have made a 9x13" drawstring project bag. Materials you will need for this class include: 1/2 yd of woven fabric, thread to match, a few pieces of scrap fabric, a Bernina sewing bobbin and 2 yards of 1/2" or smaller cording, ribbon, or fabric tape for your drawstring.
