Tasmanian Mountain Pepperberry - Dried
Tasmannia lanceolata, also known as mountain pepper, is a delicious and spicy dried berry, used just as one would black pepper. It is much beloved in Antipodean cuisine for its fruity- and floral-forward flavor and lingering spice finish. Typical applications are red meat, beet relish, or infusing cordials. Our mountain peppers are hand-foraged pepperberries, from sustainably managed bushland sites across Tasmania. We have them dried, and freeze dried. Freeze Drying preserves the original shape of the berry and has "brighter" fruity flavour. Freeze dried berries have more tendency towards purple colours (especially at slightly acidic conditions).
