Acanthoscurria geniculata (Brazilian giant white knee tarantula) 2" FEMALE

This is a large terrestrial species found in Northwestern Central Brazil in the states of Amapá, Amazonas, Goiás, Maranhāo, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, and Ilha Marajo. They have become a staple in the hobby due to their impressive size, attractive looks, and zealous personalities. Two distinct variations are known; both seem to be isolated to particular locations and ecotypes, and there is some taxonomic debate on the status of these two forms, with some authors suggesting they may be distinct species while others dismiss them as phenotypic variation.
