Bugeye Sprite Dog Seat (based on the original child seat)

If you’ve never seen a genuine vintage Bugeye child seat, you’re in for a treat. This original accessory was offered when Bugeyes were new. This was back in the day when flying out of your car was an acceptable safety procedure. If the driver didn't need a seatbelt, neither did the kids. In fact, this child seat was simply held on the tunnel with metal prongs that slide over the hump. Needless to say, this child seat was unsafe at any speed. That didn't stop us from reviving this item, which is a novel feature sure to attract attention at any car show or cars and coffee. I use mine as a very comfy arm rest and a delightful pad for my dog Bodhi when he is on board.  We’ve painstakingly reverse engineered this product from an original piece. Our seats are a faithful reproduction of those originals. We make the correct wooden bases used by the original makers and then bend steel rear seat backs just like they would have when new.
