The GY6 electric choke isn't a choke at all actually. It doesn't choke airflow. Instead, it is part of an enriching circuit that passes extra fuel to the engine while it is cold.The GY6 autochoke unit is ON by default, without any voltage. And turns OFF after a few minutes of AC voltage from the engine's stator or keyed +12v DC.
