The odor of the oil has been said to resemble the combined fragrance of camphor, rosemary, and cardamom. This oil contains the antiseptic/camphoraceous qualities found in tea tree oil, and eucalyptus but is less astringent. It’s also considered an anti-inflammatory, which is sometimes used to help treat minor skin wounds, colds, and inflammatory skin diseases.
