Kintsugi is the ancient art of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver. The cracks are viewed as part of the history of the object and not something to hide. The pottery is valued more repaired than in its original state.I love the symbolism of the art, which inspired this collection. The pendant is handcrafted using a clay inlaid in an round setting. I hand create "cracks" carving a design in the clay and then use liquid gold leaf and seal with layers of resin. Please note with my turquoise pendants, the resin is colorized by hand as well, so there can be differences in color based on the batch. :) I aim to make each pendant unique, making the necklace one of a kind.
