Boiler Throttle Valve (Hot and Steam Boilers)
Boiler Throttle Valve A throttling valve is used to reduce the steam flow rate and to prevent steam flashing. Without a throttling valve false reading may be sent to your boiler blowdown controller, resulting in the boiler blowdown valve to power on/off repeatedly. A boiler blowdown orifice assembly may also be used in replace of a boiler globe valve. Improper control of your boiler blowdown controller will also increase blowdown rates, increased energy costs, and increase steam boiler chemicals use. . These valves are installed prior to the sensor to insure an accurate conductivity reading across the boiler sensor. Failure to reduce flow will result in inaccurate readings. WSP Rating 300 psi.
