CHRISTMAS FOR CHAMBER ORCHESTRAThese four arrangements of familiar carols were written for a Christmas concert featuring a hand-picked 34-piece chamber orchestra. The first item, CHRISTMAS OVERTURE, is an extended medley of four seasonal melodies: “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” and “The First Noel.” SILENT NIGHT is a transcription for harp and strings of my original arrangement  for mixed chorus and piano, and COME TO THE CHILD is an adaptation for orchestra of an earlier medley for mixed chorus, piano, and strings that featured “Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella,” “What Child Is This,” and “Wexford Carol.“ The choral originals of these first three orchestral arrangements are included later in this collection.
