The well-known theme song from the popular 1957 film An Affair to Remember was written by Harry Warren with lyrics by Leo McCarey and Harold Adamson. Waltzing Matilda is very well known and often considered to be a folk song, but it was actually written at the turn of the 20th century and is full of local color from the land "Down Under."
