Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc Private Bin Marlborough 2021

A New Zealand staple, this wine has yearly variation but always maintains within a set tasting profile. This 2021 vintage has hints of lemon and grass which always accompany this type of wine but unlike 2020 which had more of a tropical profile the 2021 has a beautiful pear note that runs throughout and has a natural mild sweetness. While not unique it is also not typical of a Sauv Blanc and adds more weight to the body of this wine. This subtle shift does nothing to hinder the balance and this wine remains a great food pairing wine.
