Sacred Heart of Jesus - Sankt Lorenz am Schottenfeld

This beautiful pair of Sacred and Immaculate Hearts is taken from a Church in Vienna Austria.  The most significant source for the devotion to the Sacred Heart in the form it is known today was Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647–1690), a nun of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, who received apparitions of Jesus Christ in the Burgundian French village of Paray-le-Monial.  The Schottenfeld Church , the parish church of St. Laurenz am Schottenfeld , is a Roman Catholic church in the 7th district of Vienna , Neubau , on Westbahnstrasse, corner of Zieglergasse, in the district of Schottenfeld .
