Island View Schoolhouse
Island View Schoolhouse is a beautiful black and white image of a historic one room school in Seymour, TN. The story behind the image: The Island View Schoolhouse sits in a cow pasture along Boyd's Creek Rd. The school was built in 1917 on 2 acres of donated land. Students from 1st to 8th grade attended the school many of them walking several miles to get there. Thirty five to forty children would be taught under one roof. The school remained open until 1949.
