Very Fine Tudor England Great Britain King Henry VIII hammered sterling silver groat or 4 pence coin. Spink S-2337E, 2.76g, approx 24mm. Pedigree: Ex. CNG Sale 63, 5/2003. Struck between 1526 to 1544 at the London Tower Mint (Lis mint mark, located 12:30 obverse and reverse). Well struck & centered with superb portrait and full legends. Obverse: Youthful renaissance-style bust wearing ornate crown, HENRIC D G R AGL Z FRANC (Henry by the Grace of God King of England and France). Reverse: Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV (I have made God my helper). Certified by PCGS to VF 35. Appears to be very conservatively graded, superb eye appeal.
