Almost Uncirculated Roman Empire silver denarius coin. Struck for Emperor Antoninus Pius at the Rome Mint. Dated TR P XVIII = 154-155 CE. RIC 240, RSC 272, approx 18mm. Certified by NGC to AU. Superb detail, significant luster, very appealing in hand.  Obverse: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP TR P XVIII, laureate head of emperor right.  Reverse: COS IIII, Fortuna standing right holding rudder and cornucopia. Fortuna was the goddess of fortune and the personification of luck in Roman religion. An appropriate type for this emperor who enjoyed a peaceful and prosperous reign.
