Common Name: Willow (Salix nigra)  From the Eastern United States and the tree sizes range from 65-100 ft tall, 2-3 ft trunk diameter and the average dried weight is 26 lbs/ft.  Willow is a reddish or grayish brown, sometimes with darker streaks. The sapwood is white to tan, and isn’t always clearly or sharply demarcated from heartwood. Willow usually has an interlocked or irregular grain with a medium to fine uniform texture.
