Set of 50 - Carex praegracilis plugs | Clustered Field Sedge Grasses | Southern California ONLY
Minimum Order of 250 Plants Carex praceagalis (Meadow Sedge) Native to meadows and wildflower fields up and down California. Sedge lawns make great low growing meadows for the home and garden. Foliage is slightly narrower and softer than Carex pansa. Tolerates drought but will tinge brown in summer without regular irrigation (though not as much as Carex pansa). Brown tinge does not hurt grass and can be trimmed off if unsightly These low-growing meadow grasses come in plugs or small pots. They work best for smaller lawn areas, slopes or bioswales (as carex species can handle standing water). Space grasses at 8-12" apart for full coverage or more for intermixing with wildflowers. Tolerant of moderate foot traffic and pets. Does well in part-shade. Tolerant of heat and seaside exposures. Slightly stiffer blade than conventional lawn grasses. Maintain with an annual winter whipper-snipper (weed whack) trim to 4-6" in height. CALIFORNIA COMPANION PLANT SUGGESTIONS California Native Orna
