This edition consists of a piano score and solo clarinet part, edited by Richard Walters using Bernstein's pencil manuscripts of the clarinet and piano score, and also the separate clarinet part. Also included is a unique code for online access to audio of the piano accompaniment and a full performance, recorded by Todd Levy (cl) and Jeannie Yu (pn). This edition is also available without the audio accompaniment. Leonard Bernstein (1918 – 1990) was an American composer, conductor, pianist, and author. The Sonata for Clarinet & Piano was composed between September 1941 to February 1942, and is dedicated to his personal friend, David Oppenheim. The world premiere was performed by David Glazer with Bernstein on piano at the Institute of Modern Art, Boston, MA, USA on April 21, 1942.
