My handmade, hand-painted stoneware prickly pear cactus mugs are cute and fun gifts for coffee and tea lovers. Each cup is 100% handmade and wheel-thrown. I hand painted with lead-free, non-toxic glaze. A functional piece of ceramic pottery makes a beautiful gift for housewarming, Mother’s Day, birthday, Christmas, hostess, and more! Once the clay was bone dry, I fired to bisque in my small home studio kiln. Bisque firing takes about 8+ hours. Once the bisque firing is complete, the final glaze is hand painted, allowed to dry, and then fired again in the final stage (another 8+ hours). This piece was fired three times, allowing the underglaze to be fired and set before the final application of clear. The photo shows the actual piece you will receive. Expect slight perfect-imperfections, as each piece is 100% made by hand. In order to prolong the durability, I recommend hand washing with mild detergent, like Dawn. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
