Calcasieu Courthouse

In all her history and beauty, Sitting right here in Historic Downtown Lake Charles, and a neighboring building of my art studio - here’s my new drawing of  the Calcasieu Courthouse.   I’ve been wanting to do this piece since before the Hurricane. 💫 Somewhere in the town an original oil painting exists that I did about ten years ago.  I never documented it or took a photo of it though,  nothing.  I don’t even know who owns the original. …Today I finally got around to finishing one thats been scratching at me for a few years now. Pen and ink and watercolor.   What do you think ?   I considered cropping out the statue but in my initial idea I wanted the cannon and the entire lot the building sits on. There’s really no way to get it all in a photograph, so this was my artistic attempt at that. Hope you all like it.  ❤️
