Blacksmith's Leaf Class

Classes will be held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from November 11th through January 31st.  In this 3-hour class, you will learn how to forge your own blacksmith's leaf. This intermediate project will be guided by Tyler, who will walk you through every step of the process. The blacksmith's leaf pattern emerged about 600 years ago as a journeyman's portable resume, showcasing their skill level during travels. Tyler's style of leaf incorporates 5 of the 7 fundamental blacksmithing principles, giving you a well-rounded understanding of the craft.  The class begins with practicing these concepts using modeling clay, which simulates hot metal without the risk of ruining your final project. After this preparation, you'll work directly with the forge while Tyler provides guidance to ensure you successfully complete a blacksmith's leaf to take home.
