4” Philodendron gigas

Philodendron gigas is another extraordinary climbing species.  Their leaves have a velvet texture.  New leaves emerge an orange color and eventually fade to green. Philodendron gigas is commonly confused with Philodendron melanochrysum and while they are similar in appearance, Philodendron gigas leaves get much longer and narrow the further up it climbs.  For your plant to grow this mature foliage it needs to climb a pole or other support structure. Caring for your Philodendron is relatively simple.  They are tolerant of a wide range of conditions and make a great indoor plant.  Allow your new plant to dry out almost completely between watering.  This plant prefers bright indirect light.
