No one wants to ride heavy wheels so we asked our engineers to come up with a lightweight mountain bike wheelset that can take the rigors of big hits but still be affordable. We feel that with this wheelset they did a great job to keep you outside slaying trails. Aluminum plus-sized wheel rims are heavy, and you don’t want to be carrying extra weight as you pedal up mountains; that is why we have constructed our 35mm wide rims out of high modulus Toray T700 carbon fiber. It allows us to make light wheels that are super strong, carbon fiber wheel rims that are properly constructed can take big hits that deform them, and they pop back into a perfect circle.
