The V42 was a double edged knife issued to the 1st Special Service Force(FSSF), also known as the Devil's Brigade, a joint American/Canadian commando unit during WW2. Officers of this unit designed the knife based on the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, issued to British special forces earlier in the war. Our S1 handle, including the rings and hourglass shape, is based on this dagger handle design: "...there are two important factors to bear in mind: balance and keenness. The hilt should fit easily in your hand, and the blade should not be so heavy that it tends to drag the hilt from your fingers in a loose grip...." Fairbairn's book on design "Get Tough(1942)" The Cx-V42 is all Titanium and features a Damtanium cap - forged metal consisting of 2 grades of Titanium (Grade 2 and 5). This material is custom forged for us in the USA. This Cx razor is extremely light in weight similar to our Cx-Ti.  This piece is limited to 6 units.
