Ease to Grow: Moderate to ChallengingDormancy: NoNative Range: Highlands of Hidalgo, MexicoZones: 10-11 (8-12) The Ibarrae Butterwort, Pinguicula Ibarrae, is an easy to grow mexican butterwort with large broad leaves and dazzling white flowers with a touch of violet.  Its thick and succulent leaves have a strap-like shape with rounded ends. As with its mexican butterwort kin, it has large carnivorous leaves in the warm, wet summer, but rarely only slightly smaller succulent leaves in the cool, dry winter. It prefers damp, loose, alkaline soils, and partial shade with warm, wet summers and cooler, dry winters. It flowers in late spring with several nice white flowers with a tint of bluish purple. It benefits from the addition of a small amount of pellet limestone added to the soil (1 teaspoon/4" pot).
