These are perhaps the longest leaves of all Utricularia. It typically grows as an epiphyte, in and among the mosses of the upper branches of trees. It prefers live sphagnum or peaty soils that are constantly moist.  It has large subterranean stolons that form swollen nodules, useful in propagation. Large bladders trap catch a variety of subterranean small critters, like nematodes. It flowers in Spring on long stalks with as many as 10+ flowers, each about the size of a quarter, lilac-pink in color with a golden blotch. Repot annually for best flowering. It has a dry winter rest period. It is a vigorous grower, and popular among CP growers. It is a great beginners plant.
