Although not historically known for coffee, in the last few years it’s begun to focus its agricultural efforts into coffee production, and after a 20 year decline in Bolivia, there’s been a resurgence of interest in specialty coffee. With the help of the internet, the specialty market, and governmental help, coffee production and exportation has steadily grown. Additionally, coffee has been a healthy alternative to coca production. Although not all coca production is as nefarious as it may seem, it’s taxing on the soil and coffee has become a beacon of hope for the coffee growers of Bolivia.
