" Roses Past" - Polymer photogravure print - Edition 2021
In march of 2020 at the beginning of what we would come to learn as a year of isolation and worry, I went to my backyard studio and made this still life of dry roses. At the time I felt a bit bleak and my feelings came through in this negative. Now that life is on the mend I wanted to revisit the negative using this new process that I have fallen in love with. This is the first larger size print I have made on my new Takach press. This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin Portland Black and a touch of sepia ink on Rives BFK paper. I used a chine collé of Awagami Kitakata because I almost always do. I decided on an edition of 8 numbered prints and 2 A/P prints. Hand made by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 8 10 x 12 on a 15 x 20 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
