Kenya Ngurueri
This sweet gem of a coffee comes from the Ngurueri washing station belonging to the Murue Farmer's Cooperative Society located in Embu, Kenya. The combined efforts of almost 1,000 small-holder farmers, this coffee was meticulously processed with careful attention paid to ripe cherry selection, depulping, fermenting, washing and drying. This care has paid off and the phenomenal coffees coming from Ngurueri now command a premium price for the farmers- more than double what farmers usually earn. The cup is syrupy and sweet with a pleasing, round acidity. Old fashioned root beer, ripe blackberries and brown sugar dominate the cup. It has a syrupy cola-like sweetness with a medium body and a lingering finish of sweet spices. Less bright than some Kenyans, this cup is ridiculously sweet without puckering your mouth. We roast and ship on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All orders placed before 10AM ship that day.
