Sun Sets the Same, 2024 8” x 10” (widest) x 0.5" thick maple Acrylic on Panel   Memories of My Brush // UHF GALLERY  Blurb: The theme of this show challenged us to create a new piece inspired by the first artworks we ever sold. The first piece I sold that had significance was in high school. It depicted a celestial horizon climbing over a floral-filled landscape with a central skull and dancing sisters. I have drawn inspiration from love and death for as long as I can remember. Being alive and being human means loving hard and losing everything in your life. There is a constant process of healing; we are constantly being wounded and experiencing the cruelty of both life and nature, and, as such, need to mend perpetually.  The resilience to continually show up for loving and openness pulls me to recreate that first image with new eyes.
