It really is almost mint condition with the exception of that surface. It does not sit flat is very common and usual in the world of vintage cast iron dutch ovens. The founding foundries never envisioned that flat dutch ovens would be necessary because of the stoves of that time. PLUS, most dutch oven cooking/baking takes place IN the oven where flatness of the bottom is irrelevant. Griswold fans will want this dutch oven in their collection, and for the home chef, this is a must have piece for soups, stews, and slow roasting.
