* NEED PHOTO WITH FEATHERS!! This mask was collected in South-Western Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the mid 1980's.  Numerous holes have been drilled into the cheeks below each eye to allow the wearer to be able to see. The headdress is composed of woven raffia cloth stained red and attached to the mask through a series of holes along the edge of the mask.  A small mound has been created on top of the raffia cloth where the feathers are placed, the underside of the headdress is supported by a lattice of cane-like reeds which creates space for the wearers head. This is an authentic, original piece of cultural heritage from the DRC.
