THE LEATHER:   Cypress begins with Horween’s time-tested combination-tanned base—starting with chrome tanning followed by a substantial vegetable re-tan. During processing, the leather is treated with a rich mix of oils and waxes directly in the drum, allowing the blend to deeply penetrate the hide. Afterward, it’s finished with layers of stain and wax that are heat-pressed into the surface, resulting in a smooth, tight grain with natural depth, subtle color variation, and a distinctive pull-up character.
