Mary and Jesus at the Chapel with Children – Matthäus Schiestl – Catholic Art Print – Catholic Gift Archival – Quality

Matthäus Schiestl (1869-1939) liked certain elements in his pictures, typically Jesus and Mary, a church, and the German woods. He did other work too, including postage stamps for the German government, as he was quite famous in his day, but his heart is with Jesus and Mary. But these are the paintings we find most charming. They all have a warmth to them that does our heart good. In this one, Mary is seated with Jesus on her lap. Children are offering her flowers. Matthäus Schiestl is one of our favorite artists. We have numerous prints of his in our shop, and we hope to add more. They are all wonderful, with a safe, secluded, and mystical feeling. ** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a blank border all around the image of about .5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11, 1.6" for 11x14, and 1.75" for 13x17" and 16x20". For the two poster sizes, 18x24 and 24x36, we use only 0.5" margins. The ratio of the rectangle of the painting does not match the rectangles of the paper,
