We just love the Catholic art by Matthaus Schiestl (1869-1939). This one is a Nativity scene set in the German mountains, and the shepherds are trudging through the snow to adore the Baby Jesus. You can just barely make out Mary and Jesus inside the manger, by their bright haloes. Like all of Schiestl's paintings, this one is cozy and charming. He was very famous in his day, even making postage stamps for the German government. We hope this picture does your heart as much good as it does ours.
