She converted to Catholicism when she realized her lack of faith in Judaism. Following her baptism, she began teaching at a Catholic school, but was forced to quit in 1933 due to Nazi government Laws. In 1938 her and her sister, also a Catholic convert, were sent to a Carmelite monastery in the Netherlands.
