My Happiness

My Happiness is a 10x20x1.5 Mixed Media Painting on gallery-wrapped canvas inspired by the 1948 hit song with lyrics written by Betty Peterson Blasco and performed by many artists that year, most notably, Ella Fitzgerald. Two sweet lovebirds sit on a branch amid a wild array of pink sunflowers, orange zinnias and turquoise Mexican sunflowers. Mixed media include handmade and nepalese papers, monoprints, a map of Paris, vintage player piano paper and glitter! Some lyrics I was thinking of when creating the sweet lovebirds in this piece: "A million years, it seemsHave gone by since we shared our dreamsBut I'll hold you againThere'll be no blue memories then Whether skies are grey or blue (whether skies are grey or blue)Any place on Earth will do (any place on Earth will do)Just as long as I'm with you (long as I'm with you)My happiness" This is the 9th piece in my "Vintage Vinyl" series inspired by songs from 1940-1980.
