September 28th Morning Mushroom Walk

SOLD OUT Join a mushroom walk and learn about the ecological functions of fungi, common edibles and medicinal mushrooms, as well as historic uses of fungi and present-day innovations of these fantastic Fungi! Walks usually fill up, so it is recommended you sign up in advance. Location: Meet at 10am at the big Magic Meadow parking lot. Across from 452 Macdaniel Rd, Bearsville, NY. 1/2 mile from the Tibetan Buddhist Center.  The big parking lot is just past where the GPS will take you.  What to expect: We will start at the Magic Meadow parking lot for a brief Fungi101 explanation, as well as what to expect from our walk. Participants will have the option to borrow baskets, bags, and/or books to take with them as we head onto an easy trail into the forest to learn about the fungi we find. We will talk about how to look for, sustainably harvest, and identify mushrooms. We talk about what is edible, medicinal uses, and how to prepare them.
